Through its Speakers Bureau Program, the DHF offers a wide selection of informal lecture/discussion presentations designed to promote a better understanding of the world in which we live. These programs are offered to Delaware non-profits and other types of organizations as part of our membership program. Submit an annual membership form and a reservation form (provided in our Speakers Bureau Catalog and available here), and your organization will be able to take advantage of our wide assortment of presentations.

The Speakers Bureau Program is available for many types of community groups throughout Delaware, including school and civic associations, service clubs, faith-based organizations, historical societies, senior centers, libraries, and more. Our presentations are designed not only to appeal to various audiences and to be enjoyable, but they are also meant to stimulate the participants' minds and imaginations.

Presentations fall under three main categories:

  • Arts
    • Art & Architecture
    • Language & Literature
    • Sound & Stage
  • Culture & Society
    • Ethics & Public Policy
    • Pastimes Old & New
    • Religion
  • History
    • Delmarva History & Native Peoples
    • Global Issues & World History
    • Methods & Tools
    • The African American Experience
    • United States History
    • Women's Lives

These categories often overlap and presentations address multiple humanities disciplines, so please be sure to review our entire listing of topics - you may find your favorite presentation in an unexpected place! If there is something you are looking for and you cannot find it, call or email the office and we may be able to help (302-657-0650 or 800-752-2060 or info@dhf.org).

Our Speakers Bureau Catalog is available for download as a searchable PDF file. The Catalog includes instructions for requesting and hosting a talk, lists the programs we offer by category, and contains the speakers' contact information. The membership and reservation forms are included at the end of the PDF and are available here. The catalog is no longer available in print.
