The Delaware Humanities Forum (DHF) promotes the humanities by providing an assortment of resources to the people of Delaware. Our programs, which include grants to nonprofit organizations, educational outreach and special projects, are designed to bring the public together with humanities specialists. Our network links cultural, educational and civic institutions statewide, and focuses on issues of public interest and concern. Ultimately, our goal is to help our residents to learn about life and work by connecting them with other people, cultures and ideas.

2009 marked the celebration of our 35th Anniversary.
We began a year of festivities in October when we held a gala dinner at the University and Whist Club and sponsored a day-long symposium at the Delaware Art Museum. Picturing Delaware: Inside and Outside the Frame featured guest presenter, National Endowment for the Humanities Chairman, Dr. Bruce Cole, along with Delaware's notable historians and photographers. Click on our anniversary logo (above) for more details and for access to images from the event.
A Kent County symposium took place on April 17-18 and a Sussex County symposium took place on September 18-19, 2009 in Milton. The Anniversary Celebration concluded with our Annual Lecture on October 26, 2009. |
